Raise the Bar Press Center

2-1-2010 - Raise the Bar Triathlon & Running teams voted Competitor Magazine’s Best In the Northwest!

At the beginning of a full 2010 season at Raise the Bar, Competitor Magazine released the news that RTB was voted the #1 triathlon team in the Pacific Northwest region,

Our Triathlon Team has grown in size and scope over the last 7 years.    The staff at RTB works hard every to fulfill our mission of building a strong community of multisport athletes that will not only make their lives a little better, but also enhance the quality of our larger community.     Keeping that mission in the center of what we do helps us stay focused on building a strong team experience.

Raise the Bar has developed a range of programs and events with other businesses that supplement the team experience.  Year-round training programs are available to our team members and those outside our team.  For example, our women’s health care program, Raise the Hope, sponsored by Kent Easthill Physical Therapy continues to help women lower their risk of heart disease.

A program added in 2009, “Raise the Bar Runners”, grew quickly to over 70 runners and was voted the #1 Running Club in the Pacific Northwest alongside the triathlon team.  We are grateful to our partners, primarily Kriss Chiropractic & Maple Valley Physical Therapy for helping us achieve that honor.

In 2010, we’ll be looking to Raise the Bar a little more by bringing back our popular Bike Rental Program for team members, made possible by Thriftway Grocery Stores.  We’ll also continue our push to make more workouts and team experiences available to our athletes and produce a growing list of events supported by the enthusiastic RTB athletes. Training plans, personal coaching, performance testing, and bike fits will also be available to our athletes through a partnership with Set Coaching in Wenatchee, WA.

Raise the Bar depends on the strengths, skills, and passion of some key folks.  Kathy Morrisson manages a long list of details in our events division and provides outstanding service to our members while also competing, coaching, and educating our community about multisport.  Toby Mollett is RTB’s Race Director, and was the driving force behind our race, XTERRA Black Diamond, being voted the #1 off-road race in the nation in 2009.  Toby also provides coaching to RTB team members and competes both on and off-road in running races and triathlons.  A growing number of staff and coaches are helping keep RTB on top.
