RAISE THE BAR’s TRIATHLON TEAM presented by F5

KONA bicycles, based in Ferndale, WA, is known the world over for great bikes.  Those bikes have been under some of the best Cyclocross, MTB, and BMX racers in Europe, and have carried athletes to National championships right here in America.  And even with that kind of pedigree, they’ve found a little extra love for a group of pavement-comfortable triathletes in South King County that are trying to break out of the comfort zone and GET DIRTY.

RTB welcomes KONA as our official Off-road sponsor for 2008. They’ve made it possible for us to have a veritable FLEET of mountain bikes (Kona Kula’s) for our team members to train and race on this year.  

You’ll be seeing those bikes at RTB training rides and clinics - and you’ll also see  our off-road experts give some great advice and tips on how to ride them.

Personal Connection:   

Dale and Ann Knapp have raced KONA bicycles for the KONA Cyclocross Factory Team for a long time in rather prestigious places.  It doesn’t take long on google to catch up on their story.  They’ve recently  achieved greatness in bringing a future Kona rider to the family - their baby girl, Kallan.  Would she be a Konette???  Hmm..

Dale discovered his inner triathlete last year - he joined Raise the Bar’s team and raced 3 times in 4 weeks including the XTERRA Vashon race.  He also won the Satsop triathlon in Elma.    Look for Dale and Ann to be coaching the road-bound RTB triathletes to off-road adventure in 2008.
