Raise the Bar Press Center

12-14-2009 - Raise the Bar will RACE FOR HOPE in 2010

Raise the Bar is proud to announce our Triathlon team’s 2010 Premier Sponsor, The Hope Heart Institute. The Hope  is celebrating 50 years of revolutionary medical advances and educational curriculums that make heart disease – America’s No. 1 cause of death – more treatable, beatable, and preventable. They are a Bellevue, Washington-based 501(c)(3) non-profit.

It’s a partnership that makes perfect sense - a team of athletes who train their hearts to compete in endurance events and an organization that works to educate and our community about heart health.

The mission of the Hope Heart Institute is serving humanity through cardiovascular research and education. They are dedicated to preventing and treating heart and blood vessel disease, and to improving the physical, emotional and spiritual quality of life for all at risk of - or affected by - cardiovascular disease.

Raise the Bar anticipates our team will continue to grow as it has in the past.   Each year since the team began, team membership has grown an average of 23%, making RTB the largest participatory triathlon team in the Pacific Northwest Region.  In 2010 we will be an army of enthusiastic, driven athletes fighting to stamp out heart disease.

The Hope Heart Institute has been in our family of sponsors since 2007.  For their first three years with us, they have been generous sponsors of our women’s health and fitness program, “Raise the Hope” which has helped 50+ women lower their risk of cardiovascular disease. The Hope will continue their support of this important program in 2010 as well.

“Heart disease doesn’t have to be the No. 1 cause of death, and Raise the Bar athletes are proving it,” said Fianna Dickson, Director of Public Relations.  “The Hope wants people to lower their risk of heart disease.  Our partnership with Raise the Bar allows us to support those who are already making healthy choices, and encourage those who have a strong desire to make their hearts healthier.”
